Successful TCM Treatment Case

Urticaria

January 11, 2005.

The patient, Ms. Cui Guxiou, is living in Huaihua city, female, 40 years old and she weighs 54 kilograms. In August 2004, suddenly urticaria papules appeared all over her body. The size of most papules is about 2cm x 2cm x 1cm and many smaller sized papules co-exist as well. The most severe parts are abdomen, hips, four limbs and back. The papules even appear on the scalp. The reason is unknown to this condition. After the intravenous injection of western medicine for preventing allergy, the papules could disappear. Yet 20 hours later, the same condition re-appears. After disappearance of the papules, the skin  feels numb and burning. The papules are very itching and burning.

The patient feels slight dizzy. Sometimes there is tinnitus like thundering in the ears. The eyesight is dim. Dry mouth, bitter taste in the mouth and numb feeling of the mouth. The appetite is increasing 30% recently. The patient does not drink too much every day. Liking hot drinks. There is slight shortness of breath. There is much clear saliva in thee mouth. There is a desire to tend to vomit for a few years. Occasionally, there is needling pains at the chest front part. The liver area has no pains. The menstruation is normal. The bowel movement is twice a day. The urine is yellowish. The night urination is twice each night. Three times to four times urination in each daytime. The feet are cool and not burning. There is no hot sense in the soles and palms in the afternoon. No abnormal sweating. Sometimes there are muscle spasms of the feet. Much hair loss. The average sleep is 7 hours a day. Dreaminess.

When the patient meets cold or heat, the papules may occur. The papules feel like fire burning. Slight dizziness when in onset, and while the blood pressure is reduced a little bit. The eyesight is occasionally reduced. The body is not soft. Using some plant oil on the papules, the symptoms could be relieved. Bleeding happens when scratching a lot. The tongue coating is yellowish and greasy. The right wrist pulse is feeble and thready and the kidney pulse is feeble. The left wrist pulse is extremely thready and feeble.

Diagnosis:

Urticaria (Western medicine)

Wind papule of wind heat type (Chinese medicine)

Treatment Strategy: Expelling external wind evil, clearing heat, quickening blood circulation, cooling blood, nourishing blood, stopping itching.

Three dosages, to be taken orally, 200 milliliters in the morning and another 200 milliliters in the afternoon.

The food intake is reduced a little bit. Blurred vision, dry mouth and bitter taste in the mouth are relived. The sleep is normal.

From the day starting to drink the herbal tea till today, the urticaria only occurred once yesterday evening. The serious degree of the papules is reduced 50%.The size of the skin of papules also is reduced 50%.The degree of itching is reduced quite a lot. The tongue coating is yellowish and greasy.

The spirit is roughly normal. The appetite is good, the sleep is normal. The papules have been reduced obviously. The skin feels slightly itching, numb and hard. The tongue coating is yellowish and greasy.

The spirit, appetite and sleep are normal. One re-occurrence of urticaria two days ago, yet the degree is reduced 60%.

The patient reports that during the recent 40 days. There is no occurrence. All the symptoms do not exist. So her urticaria is cured.
