Successful TCM Treatment Case

Hepatitis B

Shen Lin, a male, 27 years old.

September 20, 2005.

He has suffered from hepatitis B for 4 years. Thirst and bitter taste in the mouth. Like warm water or cold water and drink much water. Fatigue. He sleeps 8 hours a day.

No dizziness. Slight jaundice of the eyes. No tinnitus. Stuffy nose. Poor appetite. Abdominal distention. Distention of hepatic region and slightly prickly pains there. The stool is not sloppy. The urine is yellowish. No night urination. Hot sense in the palms and soles in the afternoon. No night sweating. No soft legs. No waist pains. The liver enzymes are a bit high. His test report on August 19 indicates that ALT 62U/L, AST 46U/L. (The normal range here is below 40U/L for each.)

Reddish and fissured tongue body. The tongue coating is thin and yellow. Thready and moderate pulse. The diagnosis is Hepatitis B.

Abdominal distention. There are still prickly pains in the hepatic region. Bitter taste in the mouth. Improvement of the yellow urine. Relief of the hot sense in the palms and soles. The pulse is thready and moderate. The tongue body is red and dry and fissured.

The liver enzymes become normal basically. ALT 43U/L, AST 19U/L today. Obvious improvement of the distention and prickly pains in the hepatic region. Thirst and bitter taste in the mouth. The right pulse is a bit thready. Kidney pulse is feeble. Thready and moderate as to the left pulse. Reddish tongue tip. The tongue coating is thin and yellow. Improvement of the dry and fissured tongue body.

Food in-take and spirit are both fine. No bitter taste in the mouth. Slight thirst. No pains in the hepatic region. No abdominal distention. The stool is not constipated. The urine is slightly yellow. Tooth-marks on the edges of the tongue. The tongue coating is thin and yellow. Thready and weak pulse.

The urine is slightly yellow. Good sleeping. Tooth-marks on the edges of the tongue. The tongue coating is thin and yellow. The pulse is thready and feeble.

The appetite and spirit are both fine. Slight thirst. No pains in the hepatic region. No abdominal distention. The bowel movement is normal. Slightly reddish tongue body. The tongue coating is thin and yellow. Power increasing as to the right and left kidney pulses.
