Drugs for soothing the liver and invigorating the spleen and regulating the stomach   

 

 

zuojin wan (liver-fire-purging and stomach-regulating pill) purging liver-fire, dispersing the depressed liver-qi, regulating the stomach-qi and alleviating pain. dominant liver-fire attacking the stomach, manifested as pain in the hypochondriac region, bitter taste, gastric upset, vomiting and acid regurgitation, dislike of hot drinding.
wu ji wan (liver-fire-purging and spleen-stomach-regulating pill) purging liver-fire, regulating the functions of the spleen and stomach. incoordination between the liver and the stomach, marked by bitter taste, gastric upset, vomiting and acid regurgitation, abdominal pain and dysentery.
shugan wan (liver-soothing bolus) regulating the liver, normalizing the function of the stomach and regulating the flow of qi to alleviate pain. stagnation of the liver-qi, manifested as distention and fullness in the hypochondria, poor appetite, dyspepsia, epigastralgia, epigastric upset, vomiting, belching and pantothen. also advisable for hepatitis, gastritis, gastro-duodenal ulcer and hysteria due to stagnation of the liver-qi.
xiaoyao wan (ease pill) soothing the liver, strengthening the spleen, and nourishing the blood to restore normal menstruation. stagnation of the liver-qi and deficiency of the spleen manifested as distension in the chest and hypochondrium, dizziness, anorexia, loose stool, irregular menstruation and others.
shugan hewei wan (pill for soothing the liver and regulating the stomach) soothing the liver and regulating the function of the stomach. the fullness and distension in the chest and hypochondrium, gastric discormfort with acid regurgitation, nausea and vomiting caused by the incoordination between the liver and the stomach.
